I’m sharing recipes and tips on being frugal while polishing up my photography and creative writing skills. There’s an occasional spiritual discussion, a book review here and there, and probably more pictures of my dog than are strictly necessary. It’s part chat with a girlfriend over a glass of sweet tea, part conversation overheard in the grocery store checkout line, and part Thanksgiving dinner with the crazy branch of the family.

I'm a wife, mother, and nurse who'd rather blog than clean.

I'm a life-long Southerner who can't live without sweet tea and comfort food.  I read constantly and am always on the lookout for a new author.  I have a lot of great decorating and craft ideas that I don't have the patience to follow through on.  Given the choice, I'll pick a nap over a workout any day of the week.  I believe all dogs, no matter how large, should be spoiled shamelessly and allowed to sleep in the bed.  I believe children should be hugged and told "I love you so much" as often as possible, no matter how old they get.  The older I get, the less important my career becomes in terms of my self-worth.  Unfortunately, it's still just as important in terms of my bank account.  Family members who are eccentric should be enjoyed for their entertainment value, but family members who are mean should not be invited to Thanksgiving dinner.

I've been blogging since June 2009.  My children are mildly embarrassed by my blog and the chronicalling of their day-to-day life, but my husband LOVES it because if I rant on the blog I get it all out of my system and he doesn't have to listen to it.
