I’m sharing recipes and tips on being frugal while polishing up my photography and creative writing skills. There’s an occasional spiritual discussion, a book review here and there, and probably more pictures of my dog than are strictly necessary. It’s part chat with a girlfriend over a glass of sweet tea, part conversation overheard in the grocery store checkout line, and part Thanksgiving dinner with the crazy branch of the family.

Is Winter Finally Over?

I have sprouts! Things are sprouting up everywhere in my yard, and I'm hoping this means Winter is finally over. I don't have anything blooming in my yard yet, though, because all those nice early-blooming bulbs (crocus, daffodils) evidently are pretty tasty to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Squirrels that live in my backyard. I planted bulbs every Fall and they threw a party every year, so I finally stopped trying. Evidently the later-blooming bulbs, like the Magic Lily above, tulips, and hyacinths, don't taste as good, so they let me keep those. I see these sprouts and I can't help but smile, and maybe do a little happy dance if the neighbors aren't looking. What made you smile this week? Stop by Feel Good Friday and share!

Spring is on the way. I know because the plants you put out several years ago for Mom next to the garage are about 4-inches tall. Can never remember the name of them. They are always the first to show up. Plowing the garden this weekend. I am so happy!

I'm so excited to see sprouts coming up. Our snow is finally gone, but I'm sure it will be back. Green is good!

Spring is here - the trade winds are howling. I used to love to see the snowdrops and crocus come and tha later bulbs too.

I love this time of year, because you realise how resiliant things are - tiny buds forming on massive tress, and life bursting out all over the place!

(Happy SITS Sharefest.)

I was nursing a beautiful purple hyacinth inside getting it prepared for spring-just when it started to bloom my 2 year old shared a cup of soapy water with it. :( My Hyacinth is no longer.

Bring on the spring!!!

Visiting here from SITS :-)

I really, really hope winter is over. I am so over this rainy, cold weather and ready for some Florida sunshine. :-)
