I’m sharing recipes and tips on being frugal while polishing up my photography and creative writing skills. There’s an occasional spiritual discussion, a book review here and there, and probably more pictures of my dog than are strictly necessary. It’s part chat with a girlfriend over a glass of sweet tea, part conversation overheard in the grocery store checkout line, and part Thanksgiving dinner with the crazy branch of the family.

Heading to Baltimore ~ Feel Good Friday

I know, I know, I said I wasn't going to blog any more this week so I could get ready for Bloggy Boot Camp in Baltimore. But I'm all packed, have printed out my boarding pass and charged up my phone, so I've got a little time to play! Anyway, I've gotten kind of addicted to Feel Good Fridays because doing an upbeat, positive post and reading similar posts just puts me in the right frame of mind for the weekend. What makes me smile this week is obvious - I'M GOING TO BLOGGY BOOT CAMP! I've been stressed out all week trying to make time to pack and prepare for the trip, but I'll be heading to the airport in a few short hours to make some new friends and learn how to be a better blogger. I've been checking out the blogs of the other 85 or so people who are attending, and I know I won't be able to meet everyone, but there are a few I've put on a "must meet" list and I've been trying to find pictures of those people on their blogs so I can identify them from a "greater than nametag reading" distance. I was griping to myself that I've got better odds of identifying these people's kids and dogs than the bloggers themselves when I realized, "Oh, I don't have any pictures of me on my blog, either." So here's one:I'm 43, probably older than the average Blogger at this particular event, a married mother of two boys, a full-time cardiology nurse, and a life-long Southerner. I read constantly (bought the new Laurell K. Hamilton novel for the trip) and love to cook. I'm currently battling neck and back pain after having two neurosurgeries only a few months apart, so if you see me fiddling with an electrical device connected to my back during the conference don't be alarmed. It's not a bomb, it's just my nerve stimulator unit for pain relief.

I am so jealous of you!!!

I am also super excited for you - your excitement is catchy!!!!!!!!

I am too afraid to fly alone so unless a conference comes to me I will have to live through you!

Have a super fun time and thank you so much for the nice compliments on FGF!

Hi Angie, It was so nice to meet you today at Blogging Boot Camp! And even though you might have been a tad older than the average blogger, I skewed the average quite a bit. You were so kind and just a joy to spend time with. I loved reading about your life and your dear boys!
Fondly,
Yvonne
